Shree Mudit Marble & Granite

Our place, Shree Mudit Marble & Granite, is situated out on N. H. 8 in the Piparda area. If you’ve driven this stretch of the highway, you’ve probably seen plenty of stone yards, and we’re one of them. It’s a practical location because the trucks can get in and out without too much trouble, which is important for us. We focus on marble and granite, mostly local stuff but whatever is available in the market. The yard is usually full of slabs leaning against each other. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you don't know where everything is kept. We spend the morning checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be moved around for customers to see. It's not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of grit and water involved in cutting and polishing. We usually wear old clothes because they’re going to get ruined anyway by the slurry. Most people who come here are looking for something specific for their kitchen or floors. We just walk them through what we have on hand. No one here is a smooth talker. We just tell you what the stone is and where it came from. Sometimes the wind blows the dust everywhere and we have to hose things down just to see the colors clearly. Piparda is a good spot for this business. We’ve settled in here and just take things one day at a time. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it a long time now.
