Shree Karni Marble

Out here in Pasoond, we have our marble yard. It’s a big open space because marble takes up a lot of room. At Shree Karni Marble, we spend our days surrounded by big blocks and cut slabs. It’s a dusty job, and the sun can get pretty hot out here, but this is what we do. We don't have a fancy office; it’s mostly just a desk and some chairs where we talk to people about what they need for their floors or walls. There’s always a truck being loaded or unloaded nearby. We’ve got different types of stone, some with more veins, some more plain. We’ve lived in this area a long time, so we know the local stone well. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit muddy, but the work doesn't stop. It’s a physical job, moving these heavy pieces around and making sure they don't crack. We don't do much advertising; people usually find us because they saw our sign or someone told them we were here. It’s just a straightforward business. We show you what we have, you pick the slabs you want, and we help you get them loaded. It’s quiet out here compared to the city, which we like. If we aren't at the desk, we're probably out in the yard checking the latest shipment or helping a customer measure a piece of stone. It’s a lot of heavy lifting but it’s a good life.
