Ratnadeep Marble

Ratnadeep Marble is out in Mokhampura, right on N.H. 8. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it’s a good spot for a stone yard. We have plenty of space here for the big trucks to turn around. Most days it’s just the sound of the wind and the occasional truck horn. We have stacks of slabs lined up in rows. I spend a lot of time walking between them, checking for cracks or marking things with chalk. It’s a simple setup. We have a small room where we keep our papers and stay out of the rain. The ground is mostly gravel and stone scraps. Mokhampura is a quiet place compared to the town, but the highway keeps us connected. We started this place because we wanted to work for ourselves. It’s not always easy, especially when the market is slow, but we stay open regardless. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just put our sign out by the road and wait for people to stop. Usually, it's someone driving by who needs a bit of stone for a project. We show them what’s available on the floor. It’s a lot of standing around and then a lot of heavy lifting. That’s the way it goes. We’ve been here at this N.H. 8 address for quite a bit now and we don't plan on moving anytime soon.
