Raj Marble

We started Raj Marble quite some time ago right here in Rajsamand. Our place is on Nh-8 in Piparda, just across from the octroi post. It is a busy spot but easy to find once you get close to the highway. Working with stone is just what people do around here, so we got into it too. Most days you will find us out in the yard checking the slabs or talking to the drivers who bring in the material. It gets dusty and the sun is pretty hot during the afternoons, but that is part of the job. We keep various types of marble and try to have enough stock so people do not have to wait. People come by looking for stuff for their houses or small projects in the village. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning. Usually, we just sit on plastic chairs and drink tea while we look at the stone blocks. Dealing with natural stone means every piece looks a bit different, which can be tricky sometimes. We just show what we have and tell people what it is. If you are driving down Nh-8, you can see our signs. It is just a local business run by a few of us who know the area well. We do not spend much time on the computer, we prefer being outside where the marble is. It is honest work and keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
