You can find us right on N. H. 8. Being near Karjiya Ghati means we see a lot of trucks passing by all day and night. It gets pretty loud with the highway traffic, but you get used to it after a week or two. Our yard is right near Rsrk Marble Ltd, so if you miss us, you probably hit them instead. We spend most of our time out in the sun moving slabs of stone around. Nathdwara is a busy place for this kind of work. The dust from the marble gets on everything, your clothes, the chairs, even the tea cups if you aren’t careful. We just keep the water hose running to wash down the blocks when they come in. It is heavy work and my back usually aches by five in the evening. There isn't much shade except inside the small office cabin where we keep the books. People stop by because they saw the stacks of stone from the road while driving past. We don't do much talking, mostly just showing what we have in stock and loading up the trailers with the crane. It is a simple way to make a living, even if the work is dirty and the sun is hot. We just keep our heads down and handle the marble as it comes in from the quarries. The stones are stacked high, so we have to be careful when we are walking through the rows during the rainy season.
