Palace Marbles

We are located right on N. H. 8 in Pasoond. Palace Marbles is the name on the sign, though most of the time we’re just out in the yard moving slabs around. It’s a lot of work with the heavy stone and the Rajasthan sun can get pretty intense in the middle of the day. You see the trucks going by all day long on the highway, and sometimes they kick up a lot of dust that settles on the marble. We spend a good bit of our time just washing the slabs down so people can see the real patterns hiding under the dirt. Pasoond is a busy area for this kind of thing, and we’ve been at this spot for quite a while now. There isn't much fancy about what we do here. It’s mostly just loading and unloading, checking the edges of the stone, and making sure everything is sitting right so nothing breaks. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the next delivery to arrive. The slabs are heavy and cold in the morning, then they heat up as the day goes on. Being right on the main road means we see a lot of people passing through. We just stay busy with the stone and keep the yard in order as best as we can. It is a simple life out here in Pasoond, just us and the stone and the noise of the highway.
