About Maharaja Marble & Tiles – Building & Construction Material in Rajsamand
Our place is located on N.H.8 over in Piparda, right where the traffic is always moving. It’s a good spot because people can see our stacks of marble and tile from the road as they drive past. We spend a lot of time out in the sun, moving slabs around so the best parts are visible to anyone stopping by. Working with stone is heavy, dirty work, and there aren’t many shortcuts to it. You have to be careful how you lean the slabs so they don’t put too much pressure on each other. We’ve had a few accidents over the years where things cracked, so we are pretty cautious now. We handle a mix of marble and ceramic tiles, and we keep them in different sections of the yard. It’s usually just us here, managing the inventory and talking to the local contractors who come in for their supplies. We don't use any fancy sales talk. We just tell people what we have and how much it costs. Some days the wind kicks up a lot of sand from the road, and we have to cover everything up. It’s a lot of physical labor, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a truck drive off with a full load of stone that you helped pick out and pack. We stay until the light fades, then lock up the gate and do it all again tomorrow. It is just the way we live.
