Mahadev Marble

Our place, Mahadev Marble, is out in Kelwa which is part of the Rajsamand district. If you live around here, you know that Kelwa is known for its stone. Our yard is just one of many, but we have been at it for a long time. The whole area is usually covered in white dust from the cutting. It’s a noisy place to work because of the machines running all day long. We don't have a big corporate setup. It is just a yard with blocks and slabs of marble stacked up. We spend our days outside, mostly. When the sun is high, we find some shade near the office. The office is just a small building where we keep our records and a few chairs for visitors. We get a lot of trucks coming through to pick up orders. Most of the men working here have been with us for years. We know the stone well because we see it every single day. It is a tough job and your hands get rough from the work. We don't have a website or do any fancy advertising. People just show up at the yard in Rajsamand and look at what we have. We show them the different blocks and they decide. It is a simple business. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just show up, move the stone, and go home when the work is finished for the day.
