We are based out in Piparda, right along N.H. 8. Lalit Marbles Pvt. Ltd. has been around this part of the road for a long time. It’s mostly just a yard and a small office space where we keep the files. Piparda is a good spot for this kind of work because all the transport goes right past our gate. We get a lot of trucks coming in from the quarries. It's a pretty straightforward setup. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and displays. If you want to see the stone, you have to walk through the stacks in the yard. It can be a bit hot during the day, so we suggest coming early. We handle all the loading ourselves with the old crane we've got. It’s a bit temperamental sometimes, but it gets the job done. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of the slabs and making sure the measurements are right. We aren't interested in being fancy. We just want to sell the stone and keep the business moving. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes with the prices changing, but we manage. Just a local business trying to do things the right way. We’ve built some good relationships with the drivers and the regulars over the years. That’s what keeps us going. We aren't going anywhere and we plan to be here for another twenty years if the road stays open.
