Kapil Marble

Being right here on N.H. 8 in Pasoond puts us in a busy spot, especially being so close to Bhagwati Marble. Most days it is just us and the sound of the traffic going by. Our yard stays pretty full of marble because we like to have options available for anyone who stops their truck or car. The stone we have comes in different shades and thicknesses. We don't really do much fancy talking; we just show people what we have sitting in the lot. It gets a bit messy with the stone dust and the rain sometimes makes the ground muddy, but that’s how it goes in this business. We have a few guys who help with the loading when a big order comes through. It’s a lot of manual labor, shifting those heavy slabs without chipping the edges. You have to be careful. Sometimes someone comes in looking for something specific, and we have to go digging through the stacks. It takes time. We’ve been at this for a while and we know the patterns of the highway. Usually, mornings are the busiest when the deliveries arrive. After that, we just keep things tidy and wait for the next person to pull in. It’s a simple way to make a living, surrounded by hills of white and grey stone.
