Kalpatru Marbles

Out here along N.H. 8 in Piparda, we spend most of our days surrounded by stone. Kalpatru Marbles isn't some fancy office building with glass walls. It is a working yard where things get dusty and the sun hits hard. People usually find us while driving through this part of the highway. We have been here for a while now, just doing the work that needs to be done. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved when you deal with marble slabs. You see the trucks coming in and going out all day long. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it rains and the yard gets messy, but we keep at it. Most of the guys here have been working together for years. We know where every piece of stone is sitting. It is not always quiet around here because of the traffic on the main road and the noise from the loading area. We don't spend a lot of time on fancy talk. If someone stops by looking for stone, we show them what we have on the ground. It is straightforward work. We wake up, open the gate, and get to it. Piparda is a busy spot for this kind of thing, and we are just one of the places along the stretch. It’s just us, the slabs, and the highway noise every single day.
