Durga Marbles

If you drive down N.H.8 near Nathdwara Road, you’ll find us in Village Piparda. Durga Marbles has been sitting on this stretch of road for years. It’s a simple setup we have here. We deal with all sorts of marble blocks and slabs that come through. Every morning starts about the same, checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be moved. The village life is quiet, but the highway is always noisy with trucks. We spend most of our time out in the yard. It’s not an easy job because these stones weigh a ton and you have to be careful. We talk to contractors and regular folks who are just building a small house. We don’t use big words or try to act like we’re something we aren’t. We just know our stone. Some pieces have more veins, some are cleaner, and we just show people the difference. Sometimes a customer wants something we don’t have right then, so we tell them when the next truck might show up. We’ve learned over time which stones hold up better than others. It’s just us working hard and hoping the rain doesn’t mess up the loading schedule too much. Most people around here know where we are. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day without fail.
