You can find us at Bhagya Laxmi Marble in Rajsamand. Our specific location is Ganesh Nagar, over in the Jawad area. It’s a part of town where a lot of this kind of stone work happens every day. We have a decent sized space where we keep our marble stock lined up. Most mornings start with a cup of tea before we get to moving the heavy stone around the yard. The sun hits the yard early, so we try to get the heavy lifting done before it gets too hot in the late afternoon. We don’t have any fancy sales people here. Usually, it is just one of us who will walk you around the piles of stone to show you what is available. We have been in Jawad for a while, so we know most of the people who live around Ganesh Nagar. The marble business is pretty straightforward when you think about it. You get the stone, you cut it, and you sell it. We don’t do much advertising because word of mouth usually works fine for us in this town. There is always a thin layer of white dust on everything, including our clothes and the trucks. It’s just how it goes when you work with marble all day long. The trucks come and go through the streets sometimes, which can be a bit of a headache for the neighbors, but we manage to get through it. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around. We just want to have enough stone for whoever walks through the gate.
