At Arham Marble & Granites Pvt. Ltd., we are set up on the Kelwa-Amet Road in a small area called Googli. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but this is where the work happens. We handle both marble and granite, which means we have different machines for different types of stone. The granite is much harder to cut, so those saws make a completely different sound. Our yard is pretty spread out because we need the room for the big cranes to move around. Googli is a quiet place otherwise, mostly just fields and other stone yards. We spend our days measuring slabs and marking them for the buyers. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. You’re lucky if you don't have grease or stone dust on your face by noon. We’ve got a small office near the entrance, but nobody spends much time in there unless they are writing out a bill. Most of the time, we are walking the rows of granite, checking for cracks or flaws in the polish. The road outside gets a lot of tractors carrying blocks from the nearby quarries. We’ve been operating here for a while and have seen the road get busier as more people move into the stone trade. It’s hard work, but there is a certain rhythm to it that you get used to after a few seasons out here.
