Our yard, Amrit Marble & Granites Pvt. Ltd., is located in Saprav Ka Guda, which is part of the Amet area. It’s a bit of a journey to get out here, but this is the heart of where the stone comes from. We have been here for a long time, and the landscape around us is mostly just hills and stone. We spend our days processing the big blocks that come in from the nearby quarries. It involves using heavy machinery and plenty of water for the saws to keep them cool. The crew we have is mostly made up of local guys from the villages around Amet. We don't have a fancy office building. Usually, we just have a desk and some old chairs where we sit and talk with customers who come to visit. Amet is famous for its granite and marble, so there are many businesses like ours nearby, but we just focus on the work sitting in our own yard. The job is dirty and can be very tiring, but we feel good when we see a finished slab ready to go. We don't use any of that polished corporate language because that isn't who we are. We are just workers. We deal with the stone every single day, whether it is freezing cold or boiling hot. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves. It is just the way we live and work in this part of the country.
