L&T Construction

Working out here near Village Nalash is different than being in the city. The Rajpura Thermal Power Project is a huge site and L&T Construction has a lot going on here every day. It’s dusty and the sun can be really hot when you are out on the field. We have our main setup near the village, and we mostly deal with the heavy lifting and the technical side of the project. There are a lot of workers coming and going, and the noise from the machinery is pretty constant. We use the PO Box 28 for our mail because sometimes things get lost if they are sent directly to the site gates. It’s a long walk from one end of the project to the other. Sometimes we grab food from the local vendors who set up nearby. The roads get a bit rough during the monsoon, making it hard for the trucks to move. We spend a lot of time looking at plans and making sure the concrete is set right. It is hard work and long hours, but seeing the structures go up bit by bit is something else. We stay in the temporary offices mostly, which can get a bit cramped when everyone is in for a meeting. It’s a simple life out here, focused on getting the job done before the sun goes down. We don't have much to do in the evenings, so we mostly just rest for the next day.
