Yaruna Beauty Parlour

We are based in Rakshit Complex, right on the 150 Feet Ring Road. It’s a big, wide road and the shop is near Jalaram Nivas. You can’t miss the traffic around here; it’s constant. Yaruna Beauty Parlour has been here for some time now. Inside, there is a certain smell of hairspray and talcum powder that stays in the air. We have a row of chairs and the big mirrors that reflect the whole room. I usually start the day by checking the supplies. If we are low on something, I have to go out and get it before the first person arrives. The Rakshit Complex is a busy place with other offices and shops, so there is always someone walking past the door. We have a small fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. Some days are so busy I don't even have time for lunch until late in the afternoon. Other days are slower and I spend time sharpening the tools or organizing the shelves. The customers are mostly locals from the 150 Feet Ring Road area. We know their names and what’s going on in their lives. It’s more than just a shop; it’s where we spend most of our waking hours. It isn't perfect, the paint is peeling a little in the corner, but it’s our space and we keep it clean. We just try to provide a simple service for the people nearby.
