Vinayak Hair Art

Vinayak Hair Art is over at Kruti Complex, Shop No 13. We are right on Raiya Main Road, across from Janta Dairy. If you live in this part of Rajkot, you probably stop at the dairy often, so you’ve likely seen our sign. The shop is part of a busy row of stores. It is not a very large shop, but it is enough for the two chairs we have. I’ve been working here for years, and most of my customers are like friends now. We talk about cricket or the prices at the market while I work on their hair. The floor is tiled and I try to keep it clean, though hair gets everywhere by noon. The 360007 area is a busy place to live. We have a small television in the corner that is usually on the news channel. It helps pass the time when there are no customers. When it rains, the water sometimes splashes near the entrance, so we have to keep a mop handy. It is just a basic hair art shop. We don't have any of those expensive machines, just good scissors and a steady hand. People know what to expect when they come here. It’s just a local spot for a haircut and a chat. I like the routine of opening up every morning and seeing the familiar faces of the neighborhood walk past the door. The dairy across the road is always busy.
