If you drive down the Ahmedabad Highway near Rajkot, you’ll see us right opposite the Kuvadava GIDC. Venu Besan Industries has been operating from this spot for a good while. It’s an industrial area, so it’s always a bit dusty and loud with the trucks going past. We process gram flour here. It’s a straightforward process, but it takes a lot of attention to keep the machines running smoothly. We don't have a big corporate office; our workspace is right where the action is. Sometimes the heat from the machines makes the afternoons pretty tough, but we just get through it. There’s a small team of us who handle everything from the raw materials coming in to the bags going out. We don't bother with fancy slogans. The work is physical and it's what we do every day. Dealing with the highway traffic can be a pain when we're trying to load up, but you get used to it after a few years. We focus on the grind, literally. It’s a local business through and through. We know the other shop owners around the GIDC and we all just try to make a living. It’s nothing glamorous, just a solid day’s work in the mill. We keep the machines oiled and the bags stacked high. It's a routine that works for us and has for many years.
