We run Jay Jalaram Oil And Packaging out of Shop No. 2, A/22 in Krishna Nagar. It’s a local spot and most of the people who live nearby know exactly where we are. We deal with various oils and different kinds of packaging materials for everyday use. The shop often smells like oil, which is something you just get used to after a couple of days working here. It’s not a big supermarket or a fancy warehouse. It’s just a regular shop where we keep things organized the best we can on the shelves. Krishna Nagar is a nice area, quite friendly for the most part, and we enjoy being here. We see the same faces every week, and we like that kind of community feeling. We don't have a fancy website or do any big advertising in the papers. Word of mouth usually brings people in when they need something. We just focus on keeping the stock ready so we don't run out. If we don't have something in stock, we try to get it, but we don't make promises we can't actually keep. It's a small operation, just a few of us making sure things are filled and packed correctly for the customers. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide what people need for their kitchens or their own small businesses. The shop gets a bit crowded when a delivery arrives, but we move things around and make space. It’s just how it goes here.
