Varun Pipes

Morbi is always a busy place to be. Our location is Plot No. 27 on the Rajkot Highway. It gets really dusty with all the traffic going towards the ceramic factories every day. We are right in that Mosaic Land area, just a bit past Surya Foam. If you see their big sign from the road, you know you’re getting close to us. Varun Pipes has been sitting here for a good while now. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually pull the shutters down halfway to keep it a bit cooler inside. We have stacks of pipes everywhere, so it’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We know where everything is though. It’s a lot of physical work, loading and unloading the trucks that come in. We don’t use any big fancy machines for the small stuff, we just do it by hand. My cousin helps me with the books when he can, but mostly we are out on the shop floor. The highway noise is something you just get used to after a week or so. Sometimes customers call us because they got a little lost near the foam factory, so we have to go out to the road and wave them down. It's a very straightforward business. We don't have a marketing team or anything, just us at the plot. Most of the people who buy from us have been coming here for years.
