Calcutta Pipe Agency is located over in the Bhaktinagar Industrial Estate, specifically at 30-D in the GIDC section. It's a bit of a maze back here if you don't know the landmarks. Most folks find us by looking for Ravi Metal or the Accurate Weigh Bridge. The weigh bridge is always busy, so there’s a lot of idling trucks making noise right outside our door. Inside, it’s mostly just pipes. Long ones, short ones, all sorts of metal tubes stacked on racks. It’s heavy work, and by the end of the day, your hands are usually pretty black from the grease and metal. The GIDC area in Bhaktinagar gets really hot in the summer, and the tin roof doesn’t help much, but we have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving a little. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations because it’s a warehouse, not a mall. Most of the time, we’re just checking inventory or helping a driver tie down a load so it doesn't shift on the road. It’s been this way for years. We know the guys at the weigh bridge well enough to wave when we see them. It's a gritty, honest way to spend the day. Nothing fancy about it. Just pipes and hard work in the industrial sun. We just keep the doors open and get on with the business of moving metal every single day.
