Vandna Stores

Our shop, Vandna Stores, is located in the New Bazar on the Main Road here in the Jamnagar district. It’s a very busy street, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time now. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, from household items to small groceries. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep everything people might ask for. The floor tiles are worn out from all the people walking in and out over the years. We don’t have a computer system to track things. We just know where everything is kept. If you ask for something, we can usually find it in a minute or two. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit and makes a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving. My son helps me out during the holidays, but mostly it’s just me behind the counter. We see the same faces every week. We aren't trying to compete with those big supermarkets. We just provide what the local folks need. Sometimes we sit on the wooden bench outside when the shop is empty. The traffic noise from the Main Road never really stops until late at night. We open up early in the morning after the temple visit. It’s a simple life and we are content with it. We don't do any flashy promotions or advertisements for Vandna Stores.
