Umiya Glass & Aluminium

Umiya Glass & Aluminium is located over at Shop No. 6 in the Madhav Complex. We are quite close to the bus stand here, which makes it a busy spot most of the time. The shop isn't very large, but we've got it packed with different types of glass and plenty of aluminum rods. You can usually find one of us sitting at the front or working in the back with a cutter. We’ve been here for a while now, seeing the buses go in and out every day. Our work is pretty simple to describe—people come in needing a window fixed or a new frame for their bathroom, and we get to it. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we’d rather just show you the materials we have. There’s a lot of lifting and carrying involved, especially when the big crates of glass arrive. We’ve learned to be careful with our hands and how to move the heavy sheets without any trouble. It’s a bit dusty and loud when the machines are running, but that’s part of the trade. We know most of the other shop owners in the Madhav Complex, and it feels like a little community. We just keep our heads down and focus on the aluminum and glass work that needs doing. It’s a regular job, and we’re happy to be a part of the neighborhood here near the bus stand.
