At Shree Ramdoot Import Export Pvt. Ltd., we spend our days at No. 222 in the Rajlakshmi Complex. We are situated on Gondal Road, right near the old Bombay Hotel. It’s a very busy part of town, with a lot of noise from the traffic and people walking by. Being in the import and export business means we are always on the phone or checking emails about shipments from far away. The office is often full of samples and folders stacked high on the desks. We don't have much time for decorating, so the walls are pretty bare except for a calendar and a clock that runs a few minutes fast. We know the other business owners in the complex, and we often chat while getting tea during the afternoon break. It’s a community feel even though everyone is busy with their own trade. Moving goods across borders involves a lot of paperwork, so we are usually buried in forms and permits. We’ve been at this for a while and have learned how to navigate the delays that always seem to happen. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We don't have a big corporate lobby with a fountain or anything. Just a simple door on the second floor where we do our business every day and try to keep things moving. It is just us working through the paperwork day by day.
