If you walk over to Ramji Mandir Chowk in Derdikumbhaji, you will find Seleat Hair Art right there. It’s a small spot and we have been here for some years now. The temple is close by, so you can always hear the bells ringing in the morning and evening. It’s a nice sound to work to. The shop isn't very big, so when three or four people are waiting, it gets a bit crowded. We have some wooden benches for people to sit on while they wait. Rajkot weather is mostly dry, so the shop stays dusty no matter how much we clean. Most of the guys from the village come here. We know almost everyone’s name and what kind of cut they usually get. It is mostly just talk about the daily news or what is happening in the chowk. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Just a simple door and the usual tools on the counter. Sometimes we share some tea if someone brings it over from the stall nearby. The mirrors have a few spots on them that won't go away, but they work fine. We don't try to make things look like a big city salon. It’s just a place to get your hair done and move on with your day. We stay open late if there is work, otherwise, we head home when the chowk gets quiet and the day is done.
