Ravi Silver Casting

Ravi Silver Casting is situated at 12- Lati Plot, which is along the Kuvadva Road. It is pretty easy to find because we are right opposite Jayraj Print and the Modi Weigh Bridge. Those are the two big landmarks around here that everyone uses for directions. We do silver casting, which is a lot of heat and careful pouring. The furnaces are always running and the workshop gets pretty warm, especially during the middle of the day. It’s a craft that takes time to learn, and most of us here have been doing it for years. We aren't a big fancy operation. The floor is concrete and the walls have a bit of soot on them from the work. We just focus on getting the casts right and making sure the silver is handled properly. There is a lot of detail work involved after the casting is done, cleaning things up and making sure they look decent. We don't really do much advertising. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they see the sign when they are heading down Kuvadva Road. It is a busy street with lots of small businesses like ours. We just keep to ourselves, do our work, and try to keep the quality where it needs to be. It’s a hard job but it feels good when a batch comes out perfectly.
