Poonam Sarees

You can find us at Shop No. 2627 inside Manish Market. We are right opposite Dr Nanavati Hospital, so there is always a lot going on in the street. The market itself is a maze of shops, and we have been in this particular spot for a long time. It gets very crowded on the weekends, with people pushing past each other to find what they need. Inside our shop, we have stacks of sarees reaching almost to the ceiling. We try to keep things in order, but when it gets busy, things tend to get a bit messy. The hospital across the road is a good landmark for people trying to find us. It can be quite loud with the horns and the street vendors, but we are used to it by now. We spend most of our time showing different fabrics to whoever walks in. The fans in the shop hum all day long to keep the heat away. It is a small shop, but it fits everything we need. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People just know we are here in the middle of Manish Market. Sometimes we sit on the small stools outside the shop to get some fresh air. The tea here is strong and helps us through the long afternoons when the sun is hitting the storefront. We just stay here until late evening and then close up for the night.
