Old & New Book Store

The Old & New Book Store is located on Yagnik Road. It’s a place where you can find exactly what the name suggests. We have stacks of brand-new novels right next to piles of used books that have been read by five different people. The smell in here is quite strong—that mix of fresh ink and old, yellowing paper. We don't have a very strict filing system, so you might find a history book tucked away in the fiction section sometimes. We think that’s part of the fun of visiting a place like this. Yagnik Road is a busy area, but once you step inside, it’s a bit more peaceful, even with the clutter. We have books piled on the floor and on every available inch of shelf space. It’s a bit of a hazard if you aren't careful where you step. We spend our days sorting through boxes of donations or buying collections from people who are moving away. It’s interesting to see what people used to read twenty or thirty years ago. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you want to know if we have a book, you just have to come in and look or ask us to dig around for it. We usually have a pot of tea going in the back, and we don't mind if people take their time browsing through the stacks. It’s just a simple shop for people who really like books.
