Deepali Binding

If you come down to Bhaktinagar Station Plot, you’ll find us at number 17. We are right near the Ambica Weight Bridge, which is a good landmark because everyone knows it. The sound of the machines is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives here at Deepali Binding. There’s always glue, thread, and huge stacks of paper waiting to be turned into something solid. It’s messy work, to be honest. Your hands stay dirty most of the day. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything. It’s a workshop through and through. The floor is concrete and usually covered in paper trimmings. We have a small corner for tea and a few chairs that have seen better days. When the weather is hot, the fans just move the warm air around, but we keep at it. People bring us all sorts of things to bind, and we just figure out the best way to hold it all together. It’s satisfying to see a pile of loose sheets become a book. We don’t talk much while working because of the noise. The weight bridge nearby always has trucks idling, adding to the atmosphere. It is just a local spot where we do manual labor and try to keep our customers happy. We've been in Bhaktinagar for a while and the routine doesn't change much, which is fine by us.
