New Lizan Hair Parlour

The shop is located right at the corner of Prahlad Plot Main Road and Canal Road. If you know where Raj Tiles is, we are just behind that. It’s a busy part of Rajkot and the noise from the traffic is something we hear all day long. I start my mornings by sweeping the front step and getting the chairs ready. The mirrors need a good wipe every day because the dust from Canal Road just settles on everything. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular hair parlour where people come in when they need a trim or a shave. We’ve got the usual stuff, some old magazines and a fan that makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on high. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but that’s just how it goes here. Most of the guys who come in live nearby or work in the shops around here. We talk about the weather or whatever is happening in the news while I work. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so the broom is always leaning against the wall. It’s a simple setup. I’ve been working here a long time now. The neighborhood has changed, more cars and bikes now than when we first started out. It’s just a place to get your hair done without any fuss. We stay open until late evening most days. New Lizan Hair Parlour is just part of the local street life here.
