About Lunar Beauty Parlour – Beauty & Salon in Rajkot
Our little parlor is tucked away in the Housing Board Society on Amin Marg. If you know the railway crossing, we are right opposite that. You can hear the trains passing by many times a day. It’s a sound we’ve gotten used to over the years. We started Lunar Beauty Parlour with just a few things and it hasn't changed much. It’s a local place where the neighborhood women come to get their eyebrows done or a quick hair trim. We have some plastic chairs for people to wait in and a small table with some old fashion books. The walls are painted a light green, but it’s starting to peel a bit near the window. We don't mind. It feels like home to us. The water in the sink takes a minute to get warm in the winter. We use simple soap and creams that we trust. It’s usually just me and a helper working throughout the day. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, one of us just stops what we’re doing to answer it. Rajkot can be a busy place, but Amin Marg feels a bit more relaxed. We see the same faces every month and we know who likes their tea with extra sugar. It’s just a normal business. We open up at ten and stay until the work is done. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular shop for people who live nearby.
