You can find Kumar Hair Care over at Diamond Square, right by Kishanpara Chowk. It’s a well-known corner of Rajkot, mostly because of the Riddhi Siddhi Farm being right next door. We’ve been working out of this shop for quite some time now. It’s a straightforward hair place. We don’t do anything too wild, just good old-fashioned hair cutting and grooming for the guys in the neighborhood. The morning starts with tea and getting the chairs ready. Kishanpara is always buzzing, so there is plenty to look at while we work. Most of our customers are people we’ve seen for years. We know their families and how they like their hair cut without them even asking. That’s the nice thing about being in a spot like this for so long. The shop isn't shiny or modern, it has that worn-in feel that you only get from years of people coming and going. Sometimes the wait is a bit long on Sundays, but people don’t seem to mind sitting and chatting for a bit. It’s just how things go here. We aren't part of some big chain, it’s just us doing the work we know how to do. Rajkot is a big city but in this little square, it feels like a small town. We just keep the scissors moving and the floor swept. That’s the daily life at Kumar Hair Care.
