Kothari Departmental Stores

We've been at Kothari House on Sir Lakhajiraj Road for quite a while now. Most people around here know the spot. It’s just a regular shop where we keep the stuff people need for their homes. We don't try to do anything fancy. The shelves are usually full of daily items, though sometimes things get a bit messy when a big delivery comes in. My family runs the place and we mostly just talk to the regulars who stop by on their way home. Sir Lakhajiraj Road is always busy, so there's always someone coming in for something they forgot to buy earlier. We open up early and stay until the evening. It’s not a big mall or anything, just a solid building with wooden counters and piles of goods. If you’re walking past, you’ll see us right there. We try to keep track of what people ask for so we can have it next time. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise in the summer but we're used to it. Dealing with distributors takes up a lot of our morning. We just focus on keeping the doors open and making sure the inventory is okay. It’s a simple life running a store like this. Nothing too complicated, just daily work on a busy street. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years but our address stays the same. The floor has some cracks and the paint is peeling in the corners but it’s ours. We spend our days counting change and restocking the jars.
