Balaji Print

Balaji Print is situated in Navagadh, right outside the Uttar Darwaja. It’s a well-known spot in the area, so we don’t usually have to give people long directions. The shop has been around for a while. It’s a small place, and the air always smells strongly of printing ink and paper. We have a couple of older printing presses that take up most of the room. When they’re running, you have to shout a bit to be heard. We do all sorts of printing, mostly for local folks who need stuff for their businesses or events. There’s paper everywhere—on the shelves, on the floor, and sometimes even on the chairs. It’s a bit of a mess, but we have our own system for finding things. We don't have a corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just me and a couple of helpers. We open up early in the morning when the street is still a bit quiet and work until the evening. The light in the shop isn't the best, so we use some bright tube lights to see what we're doing. It’s a modest business. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people just see the stacks of paper through the open door and stop in. It’s a steady life and we like being part of the neighborhood here near the gate.
