We've been at Shop No 78 in the Gujarat Housing Board on Amin Marg for a long time. It's a busy spot here in Rajkot, especially during the evenings when everyone is out on the street. People mostly just drop in for a quick trim or a shave while they’re running errands around the neighborhood. The shop isn't fancy, but it gets the job done. I usually have the radio playing some old songs while I work. Sometimes the chairs are full and people have to wait on the bench outside, but nobody seems to mind much. We see a lot of the same faces every month, kids growing up and old men who have lived in these housing blocks since they were built. It’s a simple routine. We keep the mirrors clean and the floor swept as much as we can between customers. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so we keep the shutters halfway down sometimes to stay cool. If you are walking down Amin Marg, you’ll see our sign right there near the corner. It's just a regular place where you can sit down, get your hair cut, and talk about whatever is happening in the city. There's a tea stall just a few doors down, so there's always a bit of a crowd. We try to keep things moving so nobody waits too long. It is just how we do things here.
