Our salon is on the first floor of Omkar Tower. It’s on Nirmala Convent Road, which is a busy area near Nirmala Road. Being on the first floor means people have to walk up the stairs, but it gives us a bit of a view of the street from the window. I like watching the traffic while I'm waiting for the next person to come in. The shop is fairly large. We have different sections for hair and other things. The walls have some old pictures on them, mostly hair styles that were popular a few years ago. We don't change them much. The lighting is bright because you need to see what you are doing. Sometimes the building has issues with the elevator, so the stairs are the only way up. It’s a practical place for people who live around here. We get a lot of regulars who don't even have to say what they want anymore; I just know. We use a lot of towels and the washing machine in the back is always running. It’s just a normal job in a normal part of the city. We open up at a decent hour and stay until the last customer is done. There’s no big secret to it, just showing up and doing the work.
