Dhanraj Sarees

Dhanraj Sarees is situated at No. 332 in the Backbone Complex, right near Mayani Chowk on Chandreshnagar Main Road. It’s a lively spot to be in, especially during the festival seasons when the whole road is lit up. Our shop is inside the complex, so it’s a bit shielded from the direct dust of the main road, but the noise still finds its way in. We spend our days unfolding and folding back sarees of all different colors. It’s a lot of manual work, keeping everything organized on the shelves so we can find things quickly. We have these big counters where we show the fabric to anyone who walks in. The lighting is bright so people can see the threadwork clearly. We aren't a high-end boutique with fancy decorations. It’s just a regular shop with fans and a lot of stock. Most of us have been working here for years and we know where every single item is kept without even looking at labels. Chandreshnagar Main Road is always packed with scooters and people shopping for their homes. We open up mid-morning and usually stay until quite late in the evening. There isn't much of a hierarchy here; we all help with cleaning, talking to customers, and packing the bags. It’s a busy life but it’s what we know. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and the shop running smoothly for everyone who visits.
