We have been set up here on the first floor of Shakti Arcade for a long time now. If you look out our front windows, you get a clear view of the traffic moving along Dr Yagnik Road throughout the day. It is a busy part of Rajkot, especially near Hotel Rajdoot where there is always someone looking for a place to park. Our shop is just a simple space with a few chairs and big mirrors. The stairs leading up to the first floor can feel a bit steep when the afternoon heat is hitting the building, but it is usually a bit quieter once you get inside and away from the street noise. We spend most of our hours here with the sound of the fans overhead and the television murmuring in the corner. People from the neighborhood stop in mostly to catch up on local news while they wait for their turn. It is the kind of place where you don’t really need to explain much because we have seen most of these faces for years. There is always a layer of fine hair on the floor that needs sweeping every twenty minutes. The spray bottles stay lined up on the counter and the combs are always sitting in the blue water. We don't try to make it anything it isn't. It is just a local spot where people come to get things sorted out before heading back into the Rajkot traffic.
