Acme Rollers

Our workshop is located at 1061/A on Kishan Gate Road in the Metoda GIDC area. We are right near the D.P. Cold Storage building, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. Being in an industrial area like Metoda means there is always something going on. We specialize in rollers, obviously, since that's in our name. It's a lot of turning and grinding and making sure things are balanced. The shop floor is always covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we keep the paperwork. It’s usually a bit of a mess with blueprints and tea cups. We’ve been here for several years now. Most of our customers are from the factories nearby. They drop off their worn-out rollers and we fix them up or make new ones from scratch. It’s hard work and the iron is heavy, but we like seeing the finished product. We aren't a huge corporation with fancy suits. Most of the time, I'm wearing the same work clothes as the guys on the machines. We just focus on the task at hand. If the machines are running, we are happy. Sometimes the traffic on Kishan Gate Road is a headache, but that’s just life in the GIDC. We’re just glad to have steady work and good neighbors to talk to during breaks.
