Srinivasa Earth Movers

If you come down the Main Road toward Devi Chowk, you will see our place. Srinivasa Earth Movers is located at Dr.No 1-23/1. It is right there in the middle of all the noise and the dust that comes with being on a busy road. The traffic never really stops, and there is always a layer of grit on the windows no matter how often we wipe them down. The office inside is simple. We have a big desk where the ledger stays and some old calendars on the wall that haven't been changed in months. There is a small space in the back for tools and spare parts that we keep on hand. Most of the time, the machines are out on a site somewhere, so the yard feels a bit empty. We spend the day answering the phone and talking to the drivers when they come in to report. Devi Chowk is a good spot because everyone passes through here eventually. The tea stall right at the corner makes decent coffee, so that is where we go when we need a break. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains on it from when we were fixing a pump last week. It is a working office, not a place for showing off. We just keep things moving as best as we can. The door stays open most of the day to let a breeze in, even if it brings in the exhaust from the trucks.
