Vivekanand Ashram

We operate out of Shop No. 6 in the RDA Building over at Adarsh Bazar. The Vivekanand Ashram is a quiet place, or at least we try to keep it that way despite being in a busy market area. The shop itself is simple. We have shelves filled with books and some other small items. It isn't a modern store with bright lights; it’s more of a place where people can come and just be for a few minutes. We spend time keeping the books in order and talking to the people who wander in from the bazaar. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when there’s a festival, but usually, it’s just a steady stream of regulars. The floors are stone and stay cool even when it’s hot outside. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait to see who comes by. There is a lot of history in this building. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. It’s a humble setup, and we like it that way. We just do our bit every day, dusting the shelves and helping anyone who needs a bit of guidance with what they are reading.
