Rajaram General Store

Our store is located right at the very last bus stop in Laxmi Nagar. It is a convenient spot for people who are just getting off the bus and need to pick up something for dinner or the next morning. We are in the Damunagar area which is mostly residential. We keep things like milk and bread and eggs in stock every day. It is a small general store and we have been here for a good number of years now. The shop is basically one room with shelves lining the walls from top to bottom. It can get a bit hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the front of the shop directly. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep us company. We know most of the families who live in the surrounding buildings. They send their kids down to buy small items like salt or soap. Sometimes we run out of things and have to tell people to come back tomorrow after the new stock arrives. It is a simple way of living and working. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. Everything is just laid out where people can see it. We start early in the morning before the first bus arrives and we stay open until the last one drops people off at night. It is a lot of hours but it is what we do. The neighborhood is quiet mostly.
