We share this space at Qr.No.11/602 in Gudhiyari, Raipur, near the Naya Talab. Patel Engineering Ltd operates out of this quarter alongside D.D. Construction. It’s a tight-knit environment where everyone knows what the other person is working on. The office has a very lived-in feel to it. There are stacks of paper everywhere and old helmets hanging on the wall. We spend a lot of our day on the phone or out at various construction sites around the city. When we are in the office, we are usually trying to catch up on the accounts or planning the next week’s labor schedule. It is a very grounded place to work. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of big coolers that we fill with water every morning during the hot months. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of foot traffic over the years. We keep a small fridge for cold water, which is a lifesaver in the Chhattisgarh heat. Most of our staff live nearby, so they just walk or bike to work. It’s a community-centered way of running an engineering firm. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny building. We just want to do the job right and keep the local projects moving forward without any unnecessary drama or wasting time on things that don't matter to the work itself.
