Khan Offset & Screen Printing

If you are walking near Kachari Chowk on Jeewan Bima Marg, you will see our shop right beside the SBI ATM. Khan Offset & Screen Printing has been in this spot for quite some time now. We do two types of work here. The offset machine handles the big stacks of paper, while the screen printing frames are for the smaller, more personal jobs. It gets pretty messy with the paints and the squeegees, especially when we are doing t-shirts or wedding cards with that thick gold ink. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful where we step so we don't smudge anything that’s laying out to dry. We keep the door open to let the fumes out, so you can hear all the cars and bikes going by on the main road. Most of our days are spent mixing colors to get them just right. It is a lot of manual work. My nephew helps me out with the heavy lifting and the deliveries. We have a small desk where we talk to people about what they need. The smell of the ink is just part of my daily life now. Sometimes we sit there for an hour just trying to pick the right font. It’s a simple life here beside the ATM. We know the security guard next door and the tea seller across the street. We just keep our heads down and finish the work people give us.
