If you're looking for us, we are tucked away in A-203 of the Ankita Apartment building. It’s right behind the Nilima Hotel in the Shribag area of Alibag. It’s actually a pretty nice spot to work, though finding parking near the hotel can be a bit of a headache during the weekends when the tourists come down to the coast. We deal with tiles mostly. The office is usually stacked with catalogs and a few loose samples lying around. It’s a small team here, just a few of us making sure the orders for the local builders get sorted out. Being in a residential apartment makes it feel a bit more relaxed than a big showroom. We hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day, which is better than being stuck in a dark warehouse. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs. We've seen a lot of changes in Alibag over the years, with more people building holiday homes. It keeps us busy enough. We don't do much advertising; mostly people hear about us through word of mouth or see the sign near the hotel. It’s a simple operation. We just check the inventory, talk to the transporters, and try to make sure nobody gets the wrong color of flooring. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our feet. We don't mind the slower pace of life here compared to the big cities.
