Durgawati Bricks

We’ve been around Chote Atarmuda for a while now. Most people know us because we're right by the TV Tower and the Livelihood College. We make bricks. It's dusty work, but we've got a good rhythm going. Our yard is usually busy with trucks coming in and out. The weather affects how fast we can get things dried, which is just how it goes in this business. We started small, just a few hands helping out. Now we've got a bigger setup. If you're driving past the college, you'll see the stacks of red bricks lined up. We don't do much fancy stuff, just solid bricks for people building houses or walls in the neighborhood. Some days the kiln is hotter than others. We try to keep things moving so nobody is waiting too long for their order. It's a local operation, and we know most of the drivers who come through. Sometimes the road gets a bit muddy near the gate when it rains. We handle the mixing and the firing right here on site. It's honest work, keeping us busy from early morning until the sun goes down. Most of our regulars just drop by the office to see what we have ready. We keep a ledger of who needs what. It's not a complicated place, just bricks and hard work near the tower. There are always piles of clay that need moving and stacks of finished bricks waiting for someone to pick them up.
