Viraj Masala

If you are driving past the HP Petrol Pump in Roth Khurd, you will see our place. Viraj Masala is right there in the Roha Ashtami area. You can usually tell where we are by the smell of the spices before you even see the sign. We spend our mornings grinding and packing things up. It’s a dusty job and the air can get quite spicy, which makes everyone sneeze if they aren't used to it. The location is good because people stop for fuel and then see us and come over. Roth Khurd is a small place but being near the pump brings in a lot of outsiders. We don't have a big office or anything, just the workspace and the storage area. Most of the machinery we use is old but it still works fine for what we need. We don't bother with fancy packaging or ads. We just put the stuff in plain bags and sell it to whoever needs it. Some days the power goes out and we have to sit around and wait, which is frustrating, but that’s just how things are here in Roha Ashtami. We focus on getting the right mix of ingredients so that the taste is consistent. It’s hard work and your hands end up smelling like turmeric for days. But we take pride in the stuff we make and the local people seem to like it.
