Omya India

Omya India is located in the Taloja MIDC area of Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. This is a huge industrial zone, so we are surrounded by factories, warehouses, and lots of heavy trucks. The air always has that industrial scent to it. Our building is a practical one, designed for work rather than looks. We deal with minerals and chemical products, so there is a lot of loading and unloading going on in the yard. Inside, the office part is a bit separate, but you can still hear the noise from the MIDC all day long. We spend our time managing logistics and making sure shipments are going where they should. It’s a busy place and there isn't much time for sitting around. Navi Mumbai is a bit of a haul for some of us, but the Taloja area is central for what we do. We eat our lunch in a small room at the back, usually talking about the traffic on the way in. The furniture is old and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We don't need a polished corporate image here in the heart of the industrial belt. We just focus on getting the materials moved and keeping our clients happy with what they receive. It’s a straightforward operation where everyone knows their job and just gets on with it. There is always another truck coming in.
