Apna Kirana Ghar

Apna Kirana Ghar is located at Shop No 13/14 in the Navdurga Complex. We are in Nerul, Navi Mumbai - 400706. Having two shop numbers means I have a bit more space than some of the other stores in the complex. I use one side mostly for the heavy sacks of rice and flour and the other side for all the smaller packets and household items. Nerul is a busy place, people are always rushing to the station or coming back from work. I see a lot of them in the late evenings. They just want to grab their eggs or bread and get home. It can get quite hot in the afternoons, so I have a small fan behind the counter that doesn't do much. I don’t bother with big signs or anything. People know where I am because I’ve been here in Navdurga for years. The floor is just plain cement and the lighting is okay, but not great. I spend a lot of time counting out change and making sure I didn't run out of milk. It’s a simple business. I live nearby too, so it’s a short walk for me every day. Some days the delivery guys take forever to unload, and I have to help them move the crates myself. That’s just part of the job here in Navi Mumbai. My neighbors often stop by just to say hello while I’m stacking the new biscuit boxes.
